Report a listing or content
Tell moderators about a listing, question, answer, story or event that breaks the rules.
If you see a listing or a post that breaks the rules, report it. A moderator looks at every report. The person you report doesn't see who reported them.
Works in:Android appWeb app
What you can report
- Listings: for example a fake listing, a scam, or wrong information about the scrap.
- Learn hub content: questions, answers, success stories and events.
- People (Android app): from an offer's chat, tap Report and the person's name.
For a problem with a completed deal (wrong weight, not paid, unsafe behaviour), don't use a report: open a dispute instead. See Disputes.
Report a listing
- Open the listing.
- Select Report this listing.
- Choose a reason: Spam, Scam, Offensive, Wrong information or Other.
- Optional: add details to help the moderator.
- Select Send report.
You see "Thanks for reporting. A moderator will look at it."
Report a question, answer, story or event
On the post in the Learn hub, select Report, choose a reason, add details if you want, and send it. Reports are private.
What happens next
A moderator reviews the reports for each item and decides once for all of them. They can:
- take the item down;
- keep it (dismiss the reports) if it doesn't break the rules;
- warn the person who posted it;
- suspend the account in serious cases (admins only).
When a listing or a post gets 3 open reports, it is hidden straight away until a moderator looks at it (stories and events go back to waiting for review). People are never taken down automatically: a moderator always decides. One clear report is enough for a moderator to act.
We also check new listings automatically, for example for a price far away from the market or a photo copied from another seller's listing. These checks send the listing to a moderator. They never hide anything on their own.
