The Learn hub has guides, questions and answers, success stories and events from the Scrap Exchange community. Learn to tell materials apart, get a better price, and meet people who recycle near you.

Open Learn

  • Web app: select Learn in the menu.
  • Android app: tap Learn in Quick actions on the Home screen.

Identification guides

Short, step-by-step guides to tell materials apart and get a better price, for example how to tell brass from copper, use a magnet, or read plastic codes.

  • Filter by material and level (Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced), or search.
  • When you have read every step, select Mark as finished to track your progress and earn achievements.

Questions and answers

Ask the community about materials, prices and selling, and help others with what you know.

  1. Open Questions and answers and select Ask a question.
  2. Write your question (at least 10 characters), add details (at least 20 characters), and optionally choose a material.
  3. Post it. People answer below it.
  • Vote answers up if they are useful, or down if they are not.
  • If you asked the question, mark the best answer with Accept this answer.
  • Answers can be up to 3000 characters. Be kind and specific.

Success stories

Read how people across Pakistan earn more and recycle more with Scrap Exchange, and share your own.

  • Select Share your story, give it a title (at least 5 characters), tell the story (at least 40 characters), and optionally add your city, material, amount earned and weight.
  • A moderator checks each story before it goes live. Your story shows as Waiting for review until then. You can have up to 3 stories waiting at a time.
  • Like stories you enjoy.

Events

Workshops, collection drives, clean-ups and meetups near you.

  • Choose how far to look, or Show all of Pakistan. Select Use where I am now to use your current location.
  • Open an event to see the details, and select I am going to RSVP. Some events have a limited number of places and show Full when they are taken.
  • Propose an event: give a title, a description, the type, the place, the start and end (it can last up to 3 days and must start at least an hour from now), and optionally the number of places. A moderator checks it before it is listed, at your saved location.
