Account requests
Carry out or decline requests to delete a member's data or account.
Members can ask to delete their data or their whole account from Privacy and data in the app or the web app. Their requests come to Account requests. Handle each one within 30 days. Only admins can carry out or decline requests. Moderators can read them.
Open the requests
Open Account requests in the Marketplace group. Filter by Waiting, Done, Declined, Cancelled or All. Each request shows what the member asked to do, when, and their reason if they gave one.
The two kinds of request
| Request | Carrying it out |
|---|---|
| Delete my data | Removes the photo, phone, location, saved searches, scan history and chat photos and voice notes. The account and deal records stay. |
| Delete my account | Signs the member out everywhere, takes their listings down and anonymises the name, email, phone and photo. Deal records are kept. This can't be undone. |
Carry out a request
- Check the account in Users: is there an open dispute or a pickup in progress?
- Select Carry out and confirm.
You see "Done. The request was carried out."
Decline a request
Decline when the request can't be done yet, for example because an open dispute must be settled first.
- Select Decline.
- Write a note. The member sees it, so say why and what they can do next.
- Confirm.
Nothing on the account changes. The member can ask again later.
Cancelled requests
A member can cancel their own request while it is waiting. It then shows as Cancelled and needs nothing from you.
