Profile and photo

Change your name, photo, area, role and who can see your details.

Your profile is what other members see: your name, photo and area. It also holds your role (buyer, seller or both) and who can see your contact details.

Works in:Android appWeb app

Open your profile

  • Web app: open Settings, then Profile.
  • Android app: open Account, then Edit profile.
The Profile settings page with a profile photo, name, area or city, role choice and privacy switches.
Web app: Your profile: name, photo, area, role and who can see your details.

Change your details

  • Full name: at least 2 characters.
  • Area or city: for example "Gulshan-e-Iqbal, Karachi". In the app you can tap Use my location to fill in your city. Your area is used for local prices and distances.
  • I want to: Sell scrap, Buy scrap, or Buy and sell. Sellers can list scrap. Buyers make offers. You can do both.
  • Email: shown here, but you change it under Security. See Change or verify your email.

On the web, changes are saved when you select save. The page tells you "You have unsaved changes" until you do.

Add or change your photo

A clear photo of your face or your shop helps people trust you.

  1. Select Choose a profile photo (app: Change profile photo).
  2. Pick a JPEG, PNG or WebP photo, up to 10 MB.
  3. Move and zoom the photo to fit the circle. The round part is what other people see. On the web you can also use the arrow keys to move it, plus and minus to zoom, and turn it a quarter to the right.
  4. Select Save photo.

Who can see your details

Under Who can see your details (app: Account, then Privacy & data):

  • Public profile: other members can open your profile and see your listings. Turn it off to keep your profile private.
  • Show my email: show your email address on your public profile.
  • Show my phone number: show your phone number on your public profile.

Your phone number is hidden unless you turn this on, or share it for a single pickup. See Schedule a pickup.
