Deciding disputes
Read both sides of a dispute and record a decision.
A dispute is a disagreement after a completed deal: a weight or quality mismatch, a payment issue, or misconduct. Members open them from the deal record within 7 days. Read both sides and the evidence, then record a decision. Only admins can decide a dispute. Moderators can read them.
Open the disputes queue
Open Disputes in the Moderation group. Open disputes are listed oldest first. New disputes from the app appear here.
Review a dispute
Select Review and decide to open it. You see:
- the deal: what was sold, the agreed and final weight and price, the pickup photos;
- What happened: the reason and the description from the person who raised it;
- the evidence both sides added: notes and photos, in order. Evidence photos are private to the two members and staff.
Record a decision (admins)
- Choose the outcome:
- Side with the person who raised it;
- Side with the other party;
- They settled it between themselves.
- Write a note to both parties: at least 10 characters. Say what the evidence showed.
- Select Record decision.
Both members are told, and the dispute shows as resolved with your note. A member who loses a dispute can't hold the Trusted trader badge.
Withdrawn disputes
The member who raised a dispute can withdraw it, for example after sorting it out with the other person. It closes without a decision.
