Reports and community review
Decide on reported content and users, and approve or reject stories and events.
Reports is where you decide on what members flagged. Community review is where success stories and local events wait for approval before they go public.
Reports
Open Reports in the Moderation group. Reports are grouped per item: one listing, post or person with all its reports together. You decide once, and every report on it closes.
What you see
- The item: a listing, question, answer, story, event or user, with who posted it (select Open account to see their account).
- Each report's reason (Spam, Scam, Offensive, Wrong information or Other) and note.
- Whether the item is already hidden: content with 3 open reports is hidden automatically until someone decides. People are never hidden automatically.
- Reports raised by our automatic checks, such as a price far away from the market or a photo copied from another seller. These never hide anything by themselves.
- "This item was deleted after it was reported" when the author already removed it.
Decide
| Decision | What happens |
|---|---|
| Remove | It is taken down and the reports are closed as actioned. |
| Keep it | It stays up (or goes back up) and the reports are closed. |
| Warn | The user gets a warning notification. The account keeps working. |
| Suspend (admins only) | The account is disabled immediately, on every device, until an admin reinstates it. |
Write a reason when you remove, warn or suspend: it is shown to the user. Resolved reports move to the Resolved list with your decision.
Community review
Open Community review. Success stories and local events submitted by members wait here until staff approve them.
- Publish it to make it public.
- Reject with a reason. The author sees your reason and can submit again.
Publish stories that are real experiences on Scrap Exchange and events that are open to the public and about recycling or scrap.
